Our Purpose

About Our Seminary

Founded in 1938, St. Tikhon’s Seminary is an accredited theological institution dedicated to the preparation of clergy and lay leaders for ministry in the Orthodox Church. Education at St. Tikhon’s extends beyond the classroom, bringing together rigorous theological study, liturgical life, pastoral formation, and life together in community. The formation of the whole human person is central to this work, preparing students not simply with knowledge, but with the liturgical and pastoral skills required for a life dedicated to ministry and service.

For generations, students from a wide range of backgrounds and Orthodox jurisdictions have come to St. Tikhon’s to study, worship, and prepare for the work to which they have been called. This has shaped generations of graduates who have gone on to serve in parishes, ministries, and communities across Orthodox jurisdictions in North America and beyond.
