Tuition & Aid

Seminary students are responsible for tuition, fees, and other applicable expenses associated with enrollment at St. Tikhon’s Seminary. Some seminarians may also seek financial assistance or sponsorship from their home parish, diocese, or other outside sources to help offset the cost of tuition.

Yes. Male Students in the M Div. program are also required to provide themselves a cassock, to be worn with the blessing of the rector in the chapel, at all services, in class, and at other times determined by the seminary administration. 

Yes. Tuition and fees are payable at the time of registration each semester, but special arrangements may be made with the Seminary administration to pay these expenses in installments. The full balance must be paid before final examinations for the semester. Academic credit will not be awarded for a semester for which tuition and fees remain unpaid.

Refunds are calculated from the day a student withdraws from the regular (residential) program, on the basis of the listed charges (except the non-refundable initial deposit and the registration fee) per semester, and in accordance with the following guidelines: 

• First week of classes: 100%
• Second week of classes: 80%
• Third week of classes: 60%
• Fourth week of classes: 40%
• Fifth week of classes: 20%
• After the fifth week of classes: 0%

A limited number of scholarships are available to eligible students enrolled full-time at St. Tikhon's Seminary. Scholarships are awarded upon the basis of merit in service to the institution, and are also available to students who have demonstrated financial need. The reception of merit based and need based aid is contingent upon the demonstration of successful academic progress within the Master of Divinity Program. Such assistance may be discontinued for a semester to any student who fails to achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher in a given semester, and/or possesses outstanding incompletes at the beginning of the following semester. 

Please note: Scholarships are not normally awarded during the first year of study.

Applications for need-based scholarships are available from the dean's office or the Finance Office. No student will be considered for a need-based scholarship until he/she submits an application for consideration.
