His Eminence, the Most Reverend Michael (Dahulich), Archbishop of New York and the Diocese of New York and New Jersey, has served on the faculty of St. Tikhon’s Seminary since 1993 and as Rector since 2013. His long relationship with the Seminary has also included service as Administrative Dean from 2001 to 2002 and Dean from 2002 to 2010. His primary academic field is New Testament, though he has also taught Old Testament, Homiletics, Pastoral Theology, and Ethics. Archbishop Michael completed his theological studies at Christ the Saviour Seminary and earned a degree in philosophy from St. Vincent College. He later received both a Master of Arts in Theology and a Ph.D. in Theology from Duquesne University, where his doctoral work concentrated on the New Testament. His academic career has included teaching Scripture, Ethics, Homiletics, and Eastern Orthodoxy. Before joining St. Tikhon’s full time, Archbishop Michael served for nearly three decades in parish ministry, bringing extensive pastoral experience to his work in theological education and the preparation of future clergy. During his tenure as Dean, Seminary enrollment more than doubled, and he participated in the work that led to the Seminary’s accreditation by the Association of Theological Schools. Elected to the episcopacy in 2009, Archbishop Michael was consecrated on May 8, 2010, and elevated to the rank of Archbishop in 2015. He continues to teach at St. Tikhon’s while serving as Rector and ruling hierarch of the Diocese of New York and New Jersey.
