V. Rev. Daniel Donlick

V. Rev. Daniel Donlick, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Church History, has a relationship with St. Tikhon’s Seminary spanning more than five decades. A 1965 graduate of St. Tikhon’s, Fr. Daniel returned to serve the institution in numerous academic and administrative capacities. From 1971 to 1977, he served as Director of Admissions and a part-time faculty member, and beginning in 1978, he served as Registrar. He also served as Associate Professor of History. In 1988, Fr. Daniel was appointed Academic Dean, a position he held until his retirement in 1994. His tenure coincided with an important period in the Seminary’s academic development. As Academic Dean, he oversaw much of the work involved in preparing St. Tikhon’s for accreditation, culminating in the Seminary being granted Associate Membership in the Association of Theological Schools in January 1994. Following his retirement, Fr. Daniel remained closely connected to St. Tikhon’s, continuing to serve as a mentor and confessor to seminarians and their families. In 2015, the Seminary recognized his decades of service by awarding him the Doctor of Humane Letters, honoris causa, and establishing a scholarship in his honor.
