St. Gregorios Society

For many years, St. Tikhon's Seminary has opened its campus and shared its educational resources with seminarians of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, a non-Chalcedonian jurisdiction with deep historical roots parallel to our own. Our Malankara neighbors are beloved and upstanding members of our campus community. Although we do not share in eucharistic communion, we find that their presence is a great blessing to our institution, fostering friendship and solidarity toward the common good served by theological higher education.

To honor this relationship, we established the Baselios Marthoma Mathews III Scholarship Fund (the "Malankara Fund"), so named for the 9th Catholicos of the Malankara Church, to unify support for scholarships and other educational costs during their years of study and formation.

Beside this effort, we invite the Malankara community to consider endowments and other major gifts as a means of stewarding their religious communities. We are pleased to have you here and thank you for your years of trust and warmth beside us.
